I have an 18hp V-twin Vanguard engine. It's about 15 years old. It's been sitting for awhile and just did some work on it. Changed plugs, filters(air, fuel, oil, tranny). Fuel pump is working and I've also bypassed it and gravity feed the carb with

Their unique grass collection system is ideally suited to our climate, and this is both an excellent example and in superb condition. The specification of this model is as follows. 18HP Briggs & Stratton Vanguard V-Twin OHV petrol engine with electric start provides top-of-the range power and smooth operation that is more than enough to cope with anything the tractor is likely to encounter. 42” triple bladed I.B.S rear discharge cutter deck which gives a superb cutting quality. Anti-scalp wheels allow use on rough areas. Rear power take off (PTO) provides power for additional accessories such as scarifiers. Removable powered grass collector/sweeper with powered rotating brushes collects grass even in wet conditions leaving the lawn clear. Adjustable roller creates a traditional striped lawn. Can also be used to sweep up leaves. Hydrostatic transmission gives continuous speed adjustment avoiding the need for gear changes. Electric cutter clutch engages cutter at the flick of a switch (picture 10 top left next to choke). This automatically disengages when reversing or when leaving the seat. Separate PTO clutch.
